Breast Reconstruction Surgeon on Long Island Participates in Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Dr. James Romanelli, a breast reconstruction plastic surgeon on Long Island, is raising breast cancer awareness by becoming an affiliate for Breast Oasis, hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness event and participating in a Breast Cancer Walk.

HUNTINGTON, NY, October 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. James Romanelli (www.jrcs.com), a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in breast reconstruction on Long Island, is putting breast cancer awareness at the forefront of his practice in the month of October. He and his staff are highlighting Breast Cancer Awareness Month through a variety of measures, including becoming the new and only Long Island affiliate for BreastOasis.com, holding a Breast Cancer Awareness Month event at his practice, and participating in a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Jones Beach State Park.

"At my practice, Breast Cancer Awareness is a cause that is close to our hearts," says Dr. Romanelli. "Our breast reconstruction patients are like family to us, and we make every effort to support them and others out there who have faced breast cancer."

To kick off the month of Breast Cancer Awareness, Dr. Romanelli will become the only plastic surgeon on Long Island who is an affiliate of BreastOasis.com, a non-profit site that receives donations of gently used and new bras for women who cannot afford them. Dr. Romanelli and his staff will help to collect these bras beginning October 1.

In addition, Dr. Romanelli's practice is holding a Breast Cancer Awareness Month Event on October 10. Those who attend and donate a new bra to Breast Oasis at that event will receive a complimentary skin care treatment from a special guest esthetician. Dr. Romanelli will match donations of new bras received at the event (up to 200). The event will take place from 1 pm to 7 pm, and free refreshments will be provided.

"Along with Breast Oasis and our special October 10 event, my staff and I are participating in the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on October 16," notes Dr. Romanelli. "We have formed team 'Romanelli Reconstruction' to complete that walk together and raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness." In addition to joining his team on that walk, Dr. Romanelli plans to match, dollar for dollar, all donations up to $10,000. "I'm happy to do it," says Dr. Romanelli, "especially if it motivates others to contribute."
